Yvonne (Shepard) Summerville

Mrs. Yvonne Shepard Summerville, age 75, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014.  Mrs. Summerville was born in Paulding County, Georgia on October 14, 1938 and grew up in Temple.  She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Shepard and the late Kate Miller Johnson.  Mrs. Summerville was self-employed as a retail store owner.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B Summerville; one daughter, Elisa Lynn Summerville; and one brother, Anthony Johnson.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Steve Williamson of Crawford, AL; one son, Chris Summerville of Buchanan; one sister, Diane Shepard of Temple; three grandchildren, Amanda Johnson, Hannah Arrington and Charity Wade; seven great grandchildren; Remington and Evelyn Johnson, Millie Kate and Shepard Arrington, Ashton, Alexus and Addison Wade; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 19, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Buchanan First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Wilburn and Rev. Steve Williamson officiating.  Music will be rendered by Emily Pharris, Rev. Steve Williamson and Charity Wade.  Interment will follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Richard Jones, Chad Johnson, Mark Bradley, Rache Bell, Jason Davis, Tim Bell, Bob Bagby, Gerald Allgood, Mike Allgood and Donald Allgood.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Jones and Jack Head.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.

Mrs. Summerville will lie in state at Buchanan First Baptist Church Friday for one hour prior to the funeral.

Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
