Mr. David James Thompson, age 50, of Carrollton passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017. Mr. Thompson was born in Lakeland, Florida, on May 16, 1967. He was the son of the late Doyle Thompson and the late Betty Turner Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a supervisor with the City of Carrollton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, D.J. Thompson, Jr.; and one grandchild, Peyton Davis.
Survivors include one daughter, Bridget Thompson Davis of Carrollton; girlfriend, Kristi Kohl of Carrollton; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Lee Yates of Roopville, Cheryl and Stanley Robinson of Temple, Donna and Melvin Timms of Carrollton, and Susan and Patrick Buttorff of Carrollton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Monroe and Wanda Thompson of Kingsland, Kenneth and Patricia Thompson of Carrollton, and Johnny and Erica Thompson of Smyrna, TN; three step daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Shawn Hurston of Dallas, Christal and Stanley Flowers of Villa Rica, and Heather Thompson and Joe Norton of Temple; one step-son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Christie Garner of Carrollton; one grandchild, Cadance Davis; seven step grandchildren, Lauren, Madison, Brock, Grant, Clay, Meshea and Judson; two step great grandchildren, Ally and Maybree; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eddie Allen and Rev. Stanley Freeland officiating. Music will be rendered by Madison Garner. Interment will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Carrollton with Lauren Garner, Jeffrey Reid, Grant Hurston, Tony Bennett, Brock Garner, Jonathan Thompson and Lance Williams.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:0 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
