Mr. William “Coy” McCoy Thornton, age 70, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Mr. Thornton was born in Buchanan, Georgia, on November 9, 1946. He was the son of the late Edward Barrett Thornton and the late Lelia Ruth Harrison Thornton. Mr. Thornton was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Lockheed Aircraft. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Thornton.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Shelley Thornton of Bowdon; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Christy and Macon Cunningham of Nokomis, FL, and Jerrette Thornton of Bremen; one brother and sister-in-law, Barrett and Diane Thornton of Bremen; two grandchildren, Colby Hanson and Cali Hanson; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wendell Rush and Rev. John Lemmings officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the Haralson County Veterans Association.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday afternoon from 1:00P.M. until 4:00 P.M.
