William David Lance

William David Lance, age 65 of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023.  Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late William David Lance, Sr. and the late Jennie Ruth Cheatwood Lance. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Lance, and a brother James Lance.  An employee of the Sony Corporation for 33 years, David retired as a fork lift operator.

Always an avid outdoorsman and adventurer, David enjoyed rafting, ziplining, and hiking.  The Grand Canyon was one of his favorite outdoor spots as well as Las Vegas. David also was an amateur photographer with landscapes being his specialty.  He also enjoyed woodworking.  But by far his greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 24 years, June Lance; his children, Scott & Melissa Mulkey of Anniston; Jennifer Lance of North Carolina; and  Andrea Ellis of Carrollton; and his brothers,  Kenneth & Charlotte Lance of Temple, Andy & Sara Lance of Buchanan, and Paul & Sherry Lance of Virginia.  Also surviving are his precious grandchildren, Jessica & Kevin Flake of Mt. Zion, Wesley Ellis of Carrollton, Hannah Mulkey of Anniston, and Victoria Barber of Anniston; six great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for David Lance will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Russell Shadrix officiating with eulogies provided by family and friends.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour.  Following the service, David will be cremated.
