William Blanton Kirk

William Blanton Kirk, age 98, made his glorious homegoing on August 14, 2016 to be reunited with his childhood sweetheart and beloved wife of seventy-three years, Christine Rowell Kirk. He was a devout Christian and served as a deacon for more than sixty years in Roswell and Sandy Springs as well as Mount View Baptist Church.  When retiring from the Atlanta Water Works in 1970, he returned to his roots in Haralson County.  He was a WWII Veteran.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Etta Kirk of Haralson County, and two grandchildren, Belinda Faye Kirk and John Michael Scott.  He is survived by two children, his son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Lillie Kirk, and his daughter, Brenda Kirk Scott all of Buchanan; three grandchildren: Denora (Bobby) Heath of Buchanan, Mark (Mary) Scott of Marietta, and Jeffrey Kirk of Buchanan, in addition to four great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and one brother-in-law, Ralph Ayers of Loganville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at the Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Brannon officiating.  Interment will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
