Teresa Dean (Brown) Cheeks

Teresa Dean Brown Cheeks, age 72 of Bremen, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, in a local hospital.  She was born in Anniston, Alabama, on February 17, 1951, to the late Walter Perry Brown and the late Bertie Lee Owens Malecki.  In addition to her parents, Teresa is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Cheeks, step-son, David Cheeks, and her step-grandchild, Jacob Cheeks.

Teresa enjoyed watching television. One of her favorite shows was "Chicago Fire," and she also enjoyed watching Joyce Myers and Joel Osteen.  She was a huge fan of John Wayne and had seen all his movies.  Being an excellent cook, Teresa shared with her family many delicacies, such as fried chicken, country gravy, pickled eggs, and Milky Way cake.  She also enjoyed many hours working crossword puzzles.  Teresa was a member of Journey Fellowship.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and John Kuykendall of Bremen; her adopted daughter, Angie Hall of Bremen; her step-son, Shannon and Amber Cheeks of Kathleen;  and  her brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Valerie Brown of Cummings and Richard and Linda Brown of Florida.  She is also survived by her precious grandchildren: Jordan and Karlie Ivey of Washington State, Rachel and Caleb Andrus of Bremen, Faith Cheeks of Douglasville, Andrew Cheeks of Cedartown, Sierra Bunker of Arkansas, Adrian Cheeks of Cedartown, C.J. Cheeks of Kathleen, McKennsie Baumgarner of Arkansas, Gillyan Hendrix of Carrollton, Kris and Courtney Dunn of Cordele and Anthony Dunn of Bremen; and her great-grandchild, Zurrie Hendrix of Carrollton.

Funeral services for Teresa Cheeks will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Lemmings officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour.  Following the service, Teresa will be cremated.
