Steven Paul Vandervoet, age 65 of Cedartown, passed away. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on October 12, 1957, he was the son of the late Lawrence Vandervoet and the late Gertrude P. Vandervoet. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Morgan.
Steve was a rockhound. or what some might call an amateur geologist. He enjoyed hunting, finding and classifying the rocks, gemstones and even meteorites he found in here in Georgia. Debating politics was another favorite pastime for him. Before retiring, Steve worked in construction.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica & Phillip Horton and Jennifer & James McFerran; and his brothers and sisters- in-law, William & Barbara Vandervoet, Eric & Debbie Vandervoet, Bruce & Betsy Vandervoet, and David & Mary Vandervoet. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Cierra Horton, Krista Horton, Harper McFerran and Calvin McFerran, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
In accordance with the family's wishes, Steve will be cremated.
