Mrs. Shirley Hicks Worthy, age 80 of Tallapoosa, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, in a local hospital. Born in Tallapoosa, GA, on January 16, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Melba Bentley Hicks. Her husband, Edgar, stated many times, "Shirley loved to travel so much that she would jump on the school bus if it stopped in front of their home."
Shirley is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve & Cindy Bishop Worthy of Buchanan, Phillip Worthy of Bremen, and Jonathan & Wendy Worthy of Buchanan; her sisters, Jacqueline Roberts of Tallapoosa, and Edith & Fred Hunnicut of Chapin SC; and her brother, David & Phyllis Hicks of Tallapoosa. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren: Jessica & Jared Pervis, Amy & Brian LeHeup, Benjamin Worthy, Hannah & Cody Spicer, and Cameron Worthy; and her great-grandchildren, Adeline Pervis and Max Spicer, as well as other family and friends.
