Roy Ted Welborn

Mr. Roy Ted Welborn, age 69 of Ranburne, AL, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on May 20, 1952, to the late Ellis and Mallie Cook Wellborn.  In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Joshua Cole Welborn and a brother, James Welborn.

Roy was a master welder working many years for the Southwire Company.  In his early years his loved hunting and later in life he enjoyed working in his yard.  Roy loved his family and was an avid baseball fan.  He was also a truck man, teaching his children to drive on the Alabama country roads when they were young.  Roy was a member of SonRise Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA.

Roy leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jane Alewine Welborn of Ranburne; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly Dawn and Stephen Harris of LaGrange; Jennifer Leigh and Michael Conte of Pennsylvania; step daughters, Tammy Teague and Rusty Mattox of Ranburne; Melinda and Michael Cottrell of Temple; and ten precious grandchildren: Stetson Mattox, Daniel Cottrell, Alyssa Sticher, Montana Hallman, Colton Mattox, Amber Cottrell, Alexis Sticher, Haleigh Welborn, Bella Conte, and Mallie Jane Conte.  Also surviving are his siblings, Hazel Jean and Ray Scott, Grady Welborn, and Ralph Welborn.

In keeping with Roy's wishes, he will be cremated. 

The family will host a celebration of Roy's life at 2:00 PM (EST),Sunday, June 6, 2021, at  Son Rise Baptist Church, 4023 Highway 166, Carrollton, GA.  They will gather to receive friends from 1:00 PM (EST) until the service hour.
