Rosa Parmentier Obituary

What a lady! Rosa (Rosie) Mae Price Parmentier was born June 8, 1938, to two beautiful itinerant farmers, Gordon and Margaret Keaton Price. There was little money, but abundance of love.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert (Pat) Parmentier, her oldest brother and his wife Walter and Rachel Griggs Price, and a brother-in-law Richard (Butch) Clay. Still living are a beloved brother Howard and his wife Janice Melear Price, a sister Mary Price Clay and a number of much loved nieces and nephews.

Rosa graduated from Buchanan High School in 1956 as salutatorian. She was smart, athletic, beautiful and a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. She averaged an impressive 33 points per game. After graduation, she married Pat and she went to Massey Business College. She landed a job at Delta Airlines where she worked for over 30 years. This is where her adventure began. She flew all over the world and visited most of the states. She met many dignitaries and famous people from across the globe.

Rosa's next passion was playing bridge and dancing. she looked beautiful in her square dance outfits as she and her husband Pat danced and their feet flowed in perfect sync across the dance floor.

Rosa will be remembered most for her Great love of God and her fierce love of family, and her continuing love of her District Line Church Family. Even when she was so sick, she would get up, get dressed and make it to church where a loving member would be on the look out for her to help her into the church building.

Rosa was a cancer survivor from the seventies and then again in the nineties. She survived a rare form of cancer, and not only survived but thrived. She joined a cancer survivor group, and became an advocate for many who struggled with the fear of cancer, giving them hope that cancer was only a word and not a death sentence.

What a lady! Her unique and sassy personality will be missed, but she will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM at District Line United Methodist Church with Reverend Michael Williams, Mary Clay and Howard Price officiating.
