On Saturday, August 17, 2019, Butch Clay transitioned from his earth suit to His new body in Heaven.
Richard aka Butch was born on 11/08/1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Butch was preceded in death by his dad, Jack, and his mother, Edna Clay, and also, a sister, Vickie Brewer, and two brothers Jack and Don Clay.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary and his much loved children, Amber, Josh and Kristin, and his son in law, Scott. Also, surviving are sisters Patricia and her husband Johnny, Virginia Clay, Denise and John Steele, brother, David and brother in laws and sister in laws, Walter Price, Howard and Janice Price and Rosa Parmentier, Debbie Clay, Ginny Clay, as well as many adored cousins, nieces and nephews and beloved friends.
Butch served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era in early 70’s. His dad, Jack , who was in the army, fought heroically in the Normandy Invasion of WWII.
Butch loved Jesus. He had a passion for helping the oppressed, and made many upset with his political viewpoints. He was outspoken with no holds barred concerning immigration. He fought for the happiness and freedom of All lives. He loved going on mission trips and he fell in love with the people from Mexico and they him. He loved his American Indian Heritage and loved going to Pow Wows, and he supported quality education for children on reservations.
At one time, he was an avid hunter, painted beautiful nature paintings and creatively carved shore birds and other items. He was an electrician, and he had an associate degree in electronics and Biblical studies. He loved starting the Stepping Stone for the youth and others in the community, and he opened a food bank that fed the hungry.
With his waning heath, his concentration was on his family, and of course politics.
The date of his celebration of life will be released with all details in the next few weeks so all who desire can attend and celebrate this “Real” Life that meant something to so many!
