Peggy Findley Sikes

Peggy Findley Sikes, age 83 of Bowdon, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born on July 5, 1940 in Collins, GA to the late James Lester Findley and the late Annie Beasley Findley. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Marvin Findley, Thelma Findley Lynn, Lois Findley Lynn, Clifford Findley and Annie Evelyn Findley Sikes.

Our mom was amazing.  She was incredibly smart, working for the city of Memphis Tennessee helping  to develop Beale Street and Mud Island. Following this large project, she worked at the largest law firm in Memphis working on International deals. After she retired from the city, she began a real estate career in West Georgia. She loved her family and loved watching her grand kids play sports. She loved God and was a member of Bowdon Baptist Church where she and her husband Bill were members for many years and sang together in the choir. 

Survivors include her husband Billy Gene Sikes of Bowdon; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia (Greg) Crews of Carrollton, Shari Ann (Bob) Travers of Athens and Melinda (Howard) Joe of Atlanta; sister, Reba Findley Smith; grandchildren, Patrick Michael Brown, Jonathan Christopher Brown (Kristy), Brent William Travers ( Courtney), Jennifer Travers Rabbitt (Michael), Trevor Bradford Robinson (Haley), Howard Lee Joe III (Kaitlyn) and Sarah Lauren Joe; great grandchildren, Noah Robinson, Maverick Brown, Clay Travers, Braylon Robinson, Bailey Travers, Avery Brown, Rae Rabbitt and several other relatives and friends. 

In keeping with the family's wishes she will be cremated.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
