Pauline (Wilkinson) Wood

Pauline Lilly Elizabeth Wilkinson Wood, age 89 of Bremen, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 19, 2023.  Born in Bowdon on November 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Issac Wilkinson and the late Essie Wingo Wilkinson.  In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ilas C. Wood, her sister, Odessa Lancaster, and her brothers, Virgil Wilkinson, Isaac Wilkinson, Jr, and James Wilkinson.

Pauline worked for many years at Arrow Shirt Company in Buchanan.  A very talented cook, she loved to bake and did so for the public for many years.  She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. In later years, she spent many hours with her Word Search puzzles.  A devoted Christian woman and long time member of Bethel Baptist Church, Pauline was active in Bethel Home Missions and other church projects.  Her family was her life and she dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Her survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Debra & John Crowe and Donna Moon, all of Bremen; a sister, Rachel Almon of Temple; and her precious grandchildren: Shane & Billie Jo Hendrix, Mandy & Jason Williams, Jeremy Walton, Kim & Darwyn Summervile, and Chris & Melissa Moon.  Also surviving are nineteen great-grandchildren, fourteen great, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Wood will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 21, 2023, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ronald Carroll officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.  All attending are asked to wear red, Pauline's favorite color,  Following the service, Pauline will be cremated and her cremated remains will be interred at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, October 23, 2023, at sunset.
