Nellie Ruth (Waldrop) Smith

Nellie Ruth Waldrop Smith, age 93 of Temple, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022. She was born on August 20, 1928 in Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Smith; two sons, Norman Larry Smith and Jimmy Lee Smith; several brothers and sisters and two grandchildren, Dion Smith and Stacey Smith.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Stephanie (Jason) Mabry and Daffanie Smith (Tony Wright); seven great grandchildren, Scott Dion Smith, Tyler Ivey, Triston Mason, Waylon Mabry, Cameron Mabry and Katie Wright; three great great grandchildren, Cooper Ivey, Gunner Ivey, Charlotte Mabry and several other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Hutcheson’s from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Graveside services will follow at Mt. Zion West Baptist Church with the following serving as pallbearers:Waylon Mabry, Triston Mason, Tyler Ivey, Tony Wright and Ron Figueroa. Honorary pallbearer is Cameron Mabry.
