Karen Melissa (Connell) Mewborn

Karen Melissa Connell Mewborn, age 50 of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.  Born in Cobb County on June 6, 1972, she was the daughter of Mary Lucille Stradley Connell-Overcash and the late Raymond Crawford Connell.  In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by a sister, Wendy Millwood. Karen worked as a sales associate for BuggyBusters  She enjoyed shopping and going to the beach.  Her greatest passion was her family, especially her grandbabies.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Chris Mewborn of Douglasville; her daughter, Katlyn Mewborn of Douglasville;  her son Nicholas (Brittany) Connell of Fruithurst, AL; grandchildren, Dawson Connell and Dalton Connell; mother and step-father, Mary and Marvin Overcash; sisters, Kristie Howard of Oxford, AL; Cindy (Shane) Vaughn of Dallas, GA; and Vicky Ponder of Jasper, GA; brothers Michael (Heather Richards) Connell of Powder Springs, Stephen (Jill) Connell of Douglasville, and Ray Connell of GA.  Also surviving are her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Paul and Shelia Mewborn of Douglasville; sister-in-law, Jennifer Mewborn of Douglasville; and brothers-in-law, Jason Laugherty of OH, Christopher Couglin of Stone Mountain, Michael McElroy of Mt. Vernon, PA, and Nick McElroy of Carrollton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Karen Connell Mewborn  will be conducted Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 4:00 pm from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Doug Gaines officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour.
