Jeffery Dennis Whitfield

Jeffery Dennis Whitfield, age 63 of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at his residence.  Born on June 2, 1959, in Calhoun, GA, he was the only son of the late James Dennis Whitfield and the late Millie Jean Grogan Whitfield.  

Jeffrey was a graduate of Calhoun High School and early on began a career as a master cosmetologist.  He furthered his education at Dalton State College where he studied in the area of Theological Studies.  Reading and studying his Bible were his favorite pastimes.  Jeffery preached many Sundays at Temperance First Congregational Methodist Church in Sand Hill.  He also enjoyed attending camp meetings and brotherhood meetings. Jeffery was a loving and protective husband to his wife of 16 years, Donna.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Donna Treadwell Whitfield of Bremen; her daughter, Amanda Smith of Bremen; his sister, Brenda Whitfield Garmon of Calhoun; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Jeffery Whitfield will be conducted on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM from the Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church in Bremen with Brother Danny Hammett, Brother Matt Moore, and Brother Jason Owens officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Josh Kennedy, Jo Darby, Deon Black, Clay Pawley, Eddie Denson, and Clay Spears.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel and on Saturday afternoon at the church from 1:00 until the funeral hour.
