Jeffery L. Houston

Mr. Jeffery L. "Jeff" Houston, age 59, of Temple, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, in a local hospital.  He was born on February15, 1961, in Bremen, to the late Joan Leatherwood Houston and Jack R. Houston.  In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Tanner and Rebecca Cline; and seven brothers, Billy Houston, Bobby Houston, Jimmy Houston, Kenneth Houston, Steve Houston, David Houston, and Jerry Houston.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Joseph Houston; long-time companion, Linda Churchill; grandchildren, Aden Houston, Madison, Mackinley, Christopher, Blake, David; Alex, Ansley, Maddie, and Sammi; and stepchildren, Dawn Bowden, Donna Downing, and Robert Poss. Also surviving are eight sisters, Betty Duke, Rockmart; Janice Adams, Cedartown; Patricia Atkins, Lindale; Martha Coleman, Rome; Peggy McCall, Buchanan; Pam Dunn, Cedartown,; Sarah McElroy, Bremen; and Linda Carter, Bremen; one brother, Johnny Houston, Bremen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Houston will be conducted Monday, November 30, 2020, at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Toby Powers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Piney Woods Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tony Carter, Chris Downing, Mark Biggs, Jr., Corey Dunn, Seth Dunn, Alex Goldin, Jonathan Bishop, Blake Gregg, Jamie Houston, and Joseph Houston.  The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour.
