Edna (Allen) Priest

Ms. Edna Allen Priest, age 85, of Tallapoosa passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. She was born in Bremen on Tuesday, June 28, 1933, Ms. Priest is the daughter of the late, Robert Frank Allen, Sr. and the late, Beulah Mae Dobbs. Besides her parents, Ms. Priest is preceded in death by one sister, Louise Otwell and her brother, Robert Frank Allen, Jr.

Ms. Priest was a hard worker, having worked for and retired from Lockheed after 30 years of service. Following her retirement, Ms. Priest decided to move back to her home town.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Rose Priest of Marietta; her daughter, Vicki Lynn Dougherty of Tallapoosa; one sister, Patsy Ann Ramsey of Marietta; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christi Watts of Tallapoosa, April and Matt Myers of Dallas, Nathan and Dottie Priest of Creola, Alabama, Charlie and Tanya Claxton of McDonough and Sandra Wright of Dallas; ten great-grandchildren, Bailey, Nick, Anna, Emma, Jamie, Amber, Justin, Haley, Austin and Mateo; a host of great-great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

In accordance with Ms. Priest’s wishes, she will be cremated.

The family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11A.M. from New Canaan Baptist Church in Tallapoosa. Following the service, the family will be receiving guests at Ms. Priest’s residence for a meal and time of fellowship.
