Doris Mae (Shelton) Baxter

Doris Mae Shelton Baxter, age 85 of Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born on February 3, 1938 in Dahlonega to the late Hillard Watson Shelton and the late Blanche Calhoun Shelton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Talmadge Baxter; daughter, Regina Mae Baxter Weeks; sisters, Verna Lou Jenkins, Annie Ruth Corder, Willa Dean Smith and Mary Francis Shelton; brothers, Howard Shelton, Walter Shelton and Carl Shelton.

Survivors include, four sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony Eugene Baxter of Carrollton, Alan and Teresa Baxter of Temple, Aaron Watson Baxter of Rockmart and Avery Ben Baxter of Alabama; one sister, Donis Faye Bragg of Kennesaw; one brother, Jimmy (Ramona) Shelton of Mableton; seven grandchildren, Elan Weeks, Amber Harrington, Eugene Baxter, Jamie Weeks, Lucinda Baxter, Joshua Baxter and Sarah Baxter; three great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM from Yorkville Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Johnny Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 12 Noon until 1:30PM.
