Donna "Lynn" Rayburn Obituary

Mrs. Donna "Lynn" Rayburn, age 58, passed away peacefully Sunday, Mother's Day morning, May 9, 2021, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA, from complications due to heart failure.  Lynn was born in Carroll County to the late Render James "Doc" and Edna Collins on October 15, 1962.  She was one of their five children and grew up in the Mt. Zion area.  Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jamie Baxter Rayburn in 1979, her siblings: Ricky Collins, Kathy Barber and Carol Smith.

Lynn leaves behind her loving husband of 43 years, Frankie "Steve" Rayburn, Carrollton; their three wonderful children, Samuel Lance (Kristen Blankenberg) Rayburn, Carrollton; Christopher Eric (Holly) Rayburn, Buchanan; and Noel Edna Rayburn, Carrollton.  She also leaves her 11 sweet grandchildren who were the loves of her life: Patrick, Victoria, Ariel, Kane, Chase, Anslee, Christian, Cameron, Jasmine, Mason, and Isabelle. Lynn has one surviving brother, Rayford Collins, a daughter-in-law, Diane Hughes, and nephew, Christian Scott Barber also surviving.

Lynn was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who stayed home to take care of her family.  When she was not helping her husband with work, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking delicious meals for her family.  She had a special talent in cooking the best Southern comfort foods and loved to bake with her grandchildren.  If you were hungry, she fed you.  If you needed something, she would do what she could to help you.  Her hospitality was endearing to so many as she gave so much of herself to others, and her contagious smile always made your heart feel warm.  She was never far from home and was always there to offer sound advice, a shoulder to lean on, words of comfort and a nurse to her family when they needed her.

Lynn will be tremendously missed by her dedicated husband. "Mama" will be missed by her loving children, and "Granny" will be missed by all of her grandchildren.
