Debra Kay Worthy

Miss Debra Worthy, age 67 of Buchanan, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, in a local healthcare facility.  She was born on February 23, 1955, to the late Henry and Ruby Brown Worthy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Shelma Richards, her sister-in-law, Penny Worthy, and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lee and Byron Richards.  Debra enjoyed sitting in the porch swing and watching the happenings in her neighborhood.  Writing in her tablets was her favorite pastime, and she had numerous tablets.  Debra loved her family dearly and enjoyed talking on the phone with them and dancing at any occasion.  She had a smile that could light up the room.

Left to cherish her memories are her sister, Dianne Lee of Millbrook, AL;  her brother, Donny Worthy of Buchanan; her beloved nieces and nephews: David Lee, Suzanne Higginbotham, Jill Richards Haynes, Brad Richards, Kristy Worthy Biggs, Chad Worthy, and Ryan Worthy.  Also surviving are a number of great nieces and nephews and extended family members.  

The Worthy family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A private family funeral will be held on Monday, June 6th, with interment to follow in the Buchanan City Cemetery.
