Charles Wesley Mulkey

Charles Wesley Mulkey, age 70 of Carrollton, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He was born on December 22, 1952, in Anniston, Alabama, to the late Columbus E. Mulkey and the late Margaret Virginia Key Mulkey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Matthew Mulkey; grandchild, Matthew Mulkey, Jr. and siblings, Sherry Medders, Marsha Reeves and Steve Mulkey.

 A graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelors in engineering, Charles was an engineer for Southwire for many years and later was the CEO of Boykin Tools. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Charles also enjoyed collecting  guns and made his own knives. Motorcycles was another passion of his, and he was a member of Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Charles was a great father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be dearly missed. 

Survivors include two daughters, Andrea Ellis of Carrollton and Caitlyn Adams of North Carolina; sons and daughter-in-law, Hunter Adams of Carrollton and Scott (Melissa) Mulkey of Wellborn, Alabama; special friend, Shelia Reno;  and brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Toi) Mulkey of Mt. Zion.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Wesley Ellis, Jessica Flake, Victoria Barber, Hannah Mulkey, Kaylei Adams, Seanna Adams, Claire (Smiley) Adams and Auguste Adams, seven great grandchildren and several other relatives and friends. 

In keeping with the family's wishes he will be cremated. 

Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2:30 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Levi Bly officiating.
