Chance Olen Griffin, age 26 of Carrollton, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born on November 29, 1995, in Marietta, GA, to Candace Reece Wessman and the late Wayne Chip Griffin. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Griffin, and his faithful companion, Heart.
Chance enjoyed working with his hands, building things, and was always willing to help anyone. Playing video games and basketball were two of his favorite hobbies. Chance was a truth seeker and liked living life on the edge. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and with his dog, Heart.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Candace Wessman; sister, Autumn (Camden Jones) Smith of Bremen; brothers, Chase (Candyce) Griffin of Carrollton, Caleb (Haley) Smith of Tallapoosa, Alex Cordova of Fairhope, AL, and Wesley Cannon of Stone Mountain; and grandparents, Dorothy Griffin, Judy Young and Bobby Young. Also surviving are his niece, Eternity Jones; nephews, Elias Jones and Josiah Smith; and uncle, Brandon Swann.
Funeral services for Chance Griffin will be conducted on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 3:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Todd Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chase, Caleb, Wesley, Alex, Dustin and Brandon.
The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
