Barry Campbell Obituary

Barry Wayne Campbell, age 77 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.  Born in Marietta, Georgia, on December 18, 1946, he was the son of the late Jesse Wray Campbell and the late Jessie Brumbelow Campbell.  In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Parks Campbell, and his daughter Stacy Campbell.

Barry enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1964, served our county in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in November of 1966.  While in the Army, he received the Parachutist Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat infantryman's Badge, an Overseas Bar, the Marksman (Rifle M-14) Medal, and the National Defense Medal. Barry enjoyed riding motorcycles and collecting coins.  He and his wife, Jeanette, loved music and dancing.  Helping others was a passion and he would lend his handy man skills to anyone who needed something fixed.  Barry was a good Christian man who enjoyed reading his Bible and listening to Christian evangelists. He also was very generous and enjoyed giving to charities such as St. Jude's and Wounded Warriors.  But most of all, Barry loved his family and being involved in all their activities.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Vivian Campbell of Decatur, Alabama, and Chad and Yana Campbell of Buchanan; and his grandchildren: Amaya Campbell, Andria Campbell, Miquela Rollf-Simmons, Michelangelo Rollf, and Joshua Rollf.  Also surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Campbell and Charles Crabbe and Linda and Mike Wilson; and his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Kandi Campbell, as well as other family and friends.

The family will receive friend on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.

Graveside services will be conducted at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 1:30 PM.
