Mrs. Willie Lee Napier Watkins, age 79, of Bowdon passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015.  Mrs. Watkins was born in DeLand, Florida on August 8, 1935.  She was the daughter of the late John William Napier, III and the late Lottie Leonard Howard.  Mrs. Wakins was a retired school teacher.

Mrs. Watkins loved art and writing.  She was the author of numerous children's books and been published in Fate magazine and Southern Living magazine as well as a number of newspapers.  Although she was legally blind, she sold many drawings and paintings.  Besides art and writing, her other interests included singing, spirituality and the paranormal.  She attended the Center for Spiritual Living in Douglasville.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Watkins of Bowdon; three sons, Marti Martin of Carrollton, Daniel Martin of Plant City, FL and Clay Martin of Realitos, TX; three sisters, Bertha Reynolds, Hazel Eckinroad and Rebecca Farr all of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren, Theryn Martin, Seth Martin and Christian Berrington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will conduct a private memorial service at a later date.
