Mr. William George Sorrells, age 85, of Tallapoosa passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born in Polk County on May 13, 1939. Mr. Sorrells was the son of the late, Bill Sorrells and the late, Velma (Holcombe) Sorrells. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sorrells is preceded in death by his son, Brett Sorrells, two daughters, Traci Sanchez and Kami Richardson; his sister, Myra Busby; and by one stepson, Tony Davison.

Mr. Sorrells was a Carpenter by trade. He loved working with wood, making furniture, and was known for his ability in carving. Mr. Sorrells retired from Flagler Construction after 47 years of service. Will was Christian by faith and a Master Mason. Will was raised a Master Mason in Villa Rica Lodge #72 F&AM in 1986. He later affiliated with Buchanan Lodge #78 and Lozahatchee Lodge #97 of Piedmont, Alabama. Mr. Sorrells was a Past Master of Villa Rica Lodge #72.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Betty Joyce (Vines) Sorrells of Tallapoosa; one daughter, Lori Green Sorrells of Oneonta, Alabama; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Wes and Terri Davison of Temple; and his brother, Eugene Sorrells of Florida.  Mr. Sorrells is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a number of other relatives

Graveside services will be conducted at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2 P.M. with Brother Josh Denard and Mr. Jimmy Pope officiating. Music will be provided by Katie Davison.
