Mr. William Kermit Shadrix, age 86, of Bremen passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Mr. Shadrix was born in Carroll County on May 8, 1926. He was the son of the late Samuel Kemp Shadrix and the late Vera Mae Parrish Shadrix. Mr. Shadrix was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the time of the Korean War. He was also retired from Latex Construction where he worked as a pipeline welder. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeff Shadrix; and two brothers, Thomas Shadrix and Render Shadrix.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Lucille Wells Shadrix, to whom he had been married to for 64 years as of August 6th; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lorri and Rick Tomei of Douglasville, Carrie Prater of Bremen and Julie and Tommy McLeod of Villa Rica; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Delores Nalley of Bremen, Jean and Gene Bonner of Jasper and Mary Ann and Billy Nichols of Tallapoosa; two brothers, Homer Shadrix of Bremen and Wayne Shadrix of Wedowee, AL; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Monday, August 12, 2013 at 5:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M.
