A true American patriot, William served honorably in the United States Army from 1962 to 1969. He completed tours in Korea, Germany, and in Vietnam from 1966-1967. Upon returning to the states, he continued his service to his fellow man by becoming a police officer. He was also a skilled woodworker and enjoyed working with his hands. A man of many talents, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memories are his brother, Terry Lyons of Tallapoosa; his granddaughter, Adriane Lyons of Carrollton; his great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Caleb, and Robert; a number of nieces and nephews, as well a his special caregiver, German Mendoza.
In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Lyons will be cremated. His family is planning a celebration to honor his life at a later date.
