Mr. Walter Lewis Smith, Sr., age 60, of 113 Chaney Blvd., Lavergne, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Mr. Smith was born in Madison County, Alabama on July 26, 1948. He was the son of the late Foster Smith and the late Tommie Lee Riggins Smith. Mr. Smith was a brick mason.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Sue Garrett Smith of Lavergne, TN; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Wendy Smith of Lavergne, TN, Crissy and Chris Singer of Smyrna, TN, Jennifer and Raul Holguin of Smyrna, TN and Lisa Smith of Greenville, MS; one son, Walter L. Smith, Jr. of Lincoln, AL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and George Stapp of Hampton and Stella and Gerald Barnes of Commerce; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Billy Joe Smith of Carrollton, William and Florene Smith of Ranburne, AL and Charles and Linda Smithof Hampton; eighteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

A visitation will be conducted Friday, May 29, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. at Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Lavergne, Tennessee.

The body will be cremated following the visitation.
