Walter Leroy Tallman

Felton

Mr. Walter Leroy Tallman, age 63, of Felton, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026. Born on April 2, 1963, in Norfolk, Virginia, Leroy lived a life defined by dedication to his family, faith, and work. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter F. Tallman.

For nearly two decades, Leroy was a devoted employee of Norfolk Southern. Known for his strong work ethic, he took pride in every task he undertook. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard, and sharing a good steak with family and friends. A loyal supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs and a lifelong Chevrolet enthusiast, Leroy could always be counted on to be driving a Chevy. A Christian by faith, Leroy was a faithful member of Tallapoosa East Baptist Church, where he deeply valued the friendships and fellowship of his church family. Above all else, he cherished his family. He especially enjoyed traveling to the mountains with his beloved wife and treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as “Ga.” His kindness, unwavering love, and example of hard work will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty years, Cynthia Bailey Tallman of Felton; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brian Chapman of Villa Rica; his mother, Jacqueline Sims Tallman of Felton; his sister and brother-in-law, Louann and David Brown of Cedartown; and his cherished grandchildren, Jaylin Hunt, Maverick Chapman, and Penney Chapman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3 P.M. at Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Reverend Mason Bush officiating.

Interment will follow in Tallapoosa East Baptist Church Cemetery with Brian Chapman, Maverick Chapman, Bobby Bright, Ricky Dobbs, Lee Dobbs, Courtney White, and Joey Hunt serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, prior to the service, from 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.
