Mr. Walter Robert Perkins, III, age 64, of Mount Zion passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Mr. Perkins was born in Carroll County on October 3, 1948. He was the son of the late Walter Robert Perkins, Jr. and the late Helen Selena Stephens Perkins. Mr. Perkins was a veteran of teh United States Air Force and had worked as a safety director for Southwire Company. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Caroline Golden Boatright; and one brother, Thomas Rick Perkins.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Ashmore Perkins of Mount Zion; one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Delton Tilley of Mount Zion; three grandchildren; Lexi Ackles, C.J. Ackles and Jordan Ackles; one step-grandchild, Lauren Quick; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Anthony Puckett officiating. Music will be rendered by Harold McWhorter.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
