Mrs. Velma Jerrell Williams Lane, age 75, of Dallas passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Mrs. Lane was born in Haralson County on November 2, 1936. She was the daughter of the late James Marvin Williams and the late Rilla Louella Swann Williams. Mrs. Lane was retired from Pillowtex. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Estell Armstrong and two brothers, Leamon Williams and James Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Terry Lane of Dallas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Terri Humphries of Marietta and Pennie and Ray Stephens of Dallas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Debby Lane of Buchanan and Jeffery and Stephanie Lane of Dallas; a special niece/daughter, Sandra Roper of Buchanan; grandchildren, Robert Ray, David Ray, Ashley Campbell, J.D. Humphries, Christopher Lane, Daniel Lane, Tyler Stephens and Natalie Roper; six great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 31, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joe Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jeff Lane, Greg Lane, Christopher Lane, Daniel Lane, John Blankenship, Roger Williams, Robert Ray and David Ray. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Major Michael Cunningham and Robin Smith.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
