Mr. Troy George Whitaker, age 86, of Worthington, Kentucky (formerly of Bremen) passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee on May 4, 1938. Mr. Whitaker was the son of the late, Fred Whitaker and the late, Leta (Gulley) Whitaker. In addition to his parents, Troy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Bonnie Pearl (Killion) Whitaker; his brothers Hubert Whitaker, Elmer Whitaker, Albert Whitaker, John Whitaker, Arnold Whitaker, Donald Whitaker, and Walter Whitaker; and by two sisters, Virgie Fultz and Helen Whitaker.

Left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laura Whitaker of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pearl and Jerry Harrell of Villa Rica and Teresa and Shane McPherson of Fort Payne, Alabama; by one sister, Jean Evans of Marietta; and by dear friends, Keith Hall and Polly Graves. Mr. Whitaker is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 2 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with a poem reading by Pastor Jeff Byrd, and with Brother Terry Marbut and Pastor Billy Hooper officiating.

Interment will follow in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Temple with Matt Bradley, Levi McPherson, Chris Buckalew, Taylor Smith, Jonathan Whitaker, and Joey Lester serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 1P.M. until the funeral hour.
