Troy Lynn Burton, age 53 of Tallapoosa, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, after a brief illness.  Born on September 19, 1970, in Carrollton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Hoyt Ervin Burton and the late Janice Lynn Lawson Fincher.  In addition to his parents, Troy is preceded in death by his precious daughter, Makayla Marie Burton.

Being an avid outdoorsman, Troy enjoyed camping and fishing.  He also spent time watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football and listening to Classic 70's Rock & Roll.  Before his illness, Troy was a heavy diesel mechanic at East/West Express.  His infectious smile will be dearly missed by his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Kimberly Jones Burton; his sons, Hoyt Richard Burton and David Eli Burton, all of Tallapoosa; and his brother and sister-in-law, Hoyt Joseph "Joey" and Chastity Burton of Altoona, Alabama. Also surviving are his nieces, Codi Lynn and Brianna; nephews, Dakota and Trae; and a number of great nieces and nephews and other family members.

Funeral services for Troy Burton will be conducted Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 6:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tyler Barron officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the service hour.   The burial will take place at the Burton Family Cemetery in Altoona, Alabama, on Sunday, June 30th at 4:00 PM (Georgia time).
