IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tracy Galen
Long
September 3, 1955 – May 6, 2024
Tracy Galen Long, a former resident of Tallapoosa, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024. Born on September 3, 1955, in Bremen, he was the son of the late Ronald Long and the late Doris Kiser Long. In addition to his parents, Tracy is preceded in death by his only sister, Marsha Long Ballew.
Tracy truly enjoyed life and could be found smiling and laughing most of the day. His positive attitude was infectious to those around him and he loved singing, dancing and listening to music. A participant in Georgia Special Olympics for many years, Tracy's specialty sports were bowling and bocce ball. Being outdoors walking and exploring also brought him many hours of pleasure. In his later years, Tracy found enjoyment playing Bingo and attending church services. He dearly loved his family and will be missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his niece, Shayna & Ken Moses of Tallapoosa; and his nephews, Gary & Christina Ballew of Ponce de Leon, FL, and Bryan & Melissa Ballew of Tallapoosa. Also surviving are his great nieces and nephews: Brittany, Ashley, BreAnna, Kendra, Dylan, Luke, Rebecca and Rachel; and his precious great great niece, Kennadi.
A memorial service for Tracy Long will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Jeff Layton officiating. Music will be provided by Kendra Moses, Stacy Gilbert, and Kristi Vines. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Tracy by making a donation to the My Turn Baseball League, a local organization dedicated to providing inclusive baseball experiences for children with special needs and disabilities. Supporters who wish to contribute to the fundraising campaign can donate directly by mailing or dropping a check made out to Haralson Special Recreation at the Haralson County Commissioner's Office, 155 Van Wert Street, Buchanan, GA 30113, or by sending a check made out to City of Bremen to Bremen City Hall, 232 Main Street, Bremen, GA 30110 with the memo line My Turn.
