Tony Ladel Huckaby, Sr.

Tony Ladel Huckaby, Sr., age 68 of Buchanan, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026.  Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 2, 1958, he was the son of the late Edward Floyd Huckaby, Sr. and the late Gloria Louise Beal Huckaby.  In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Victoria Hardin and Deborah Dubreuiel.

For many years Tony worked in construction and was a skilled drywall craftsman.  His love of the outdoors was seen in his hours spent fishing and hunting. A homebody at heart, Tony enjoyed watching television, especially western shows like Gunsmoke and anything with John Wayne.  His infectious smile and warm spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Tony L. Huckaby, Jr; his beloved brothers: Edward "Junior" Huckaby, Samuel & Janice Huckaby, and Steve Huckaby, all of Buchanan; and his precious sister, Pamela Darlene Smith.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Tony Huckaby will be conducted on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 5:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bill Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the funeral hour.  Following the service, Tony will be cremated.
