Tommy Dover, age 60 of Temple, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, after a brief illness.  Born in Gainesville, Georgia, on April 22, 1964, he was the son of the late Herman Eugene Dover and the late Clara Elaine Dover.

Having obtained his Commercial Driver's License, Tommy spent most of his work life behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler.  Currently, he was employed by Swift Trucking Company and instructed student drivers helping them obtain their CDL.  Staying fit was one of Tommy's passion and he was also very proud of his black belt in karate.  An avid outdoorsman, he spent many hours target practicing, sometimes alone and sometimes with friends.  Tommy also had a soft spot in his heart for animals, especially his pets.  He leaves behind three special fur babies, Roxie, Sonny, and Lucy.  He has now joined his favorite dog, Jessie, as she had previously crossed over the rainbow bridge.  Tommy will be missed by all who loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are the love of his life, his wife, Nancy Dover; his sister, Sharon (Marvin) Carlan; his children, Brandon (Alisha) Dover of Gainesville, Jonathan (Kristin) Dover of Flowery Branch, and Tommy Dover II of Gainesville; and his step-children, Jan (Randy) Vann of Cedartown, Justin (Liz) Harrup of Franklin, Virginia, and Joshua (Lindsey) Harrup of Sedley, Virginia.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and nephew, Michael Thompson of Florida.

Funeral services for Tommy Dover will be conducted Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until the funeral hour.

Keeping with Tommy's wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
