IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Timothy Lovvorn
Payne
March 4, 1959 – February 7, 2025
Timothy Lovvorn Payne, age 65 of Buchanan, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Born in Carrollton on March 4, 1959, he was the son of the late William Lawton Payne and the late Margaret Lovvorn Payne.
A 1977 graduate of Bremen High School, Tim played baseball at BHS. He continued his love of the game and played softball for several years in the church league. Being a baseball fanatic, he also was a die-hard supporter of the Atlanta Braves. Tim worked in the shipping department at Warren Sewell Clothing Company for many years. He had a beautiful bass voice and sang in the choir and a quartet at Bremen First Baptist Church where he was a member since childhood. One of Tim's favorite pastimes was traveling with his family and visiting National Parks and as many states as possible. However, Tim's passion was being "Pops" to his grandchildren and spending time with them. His gentle spirit and fun loving personality will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jamie Perry Payne of Buchanan; his children, Gabriel Payne of Bremen, Christen (Dallas) McKay of Villa Rica, and Nickolas Payne of Bremen; and his precious grandchildren, Maddux Payne, Sunny-Rae McKay, and Judah Payne. Also surviving are his sisters, Peggy Robinson and Martha (Steve) Schiffman, both of Bremen; his mother-in-law, Miriam Perry of Buchanan; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly (James) Owens, Pam (Johnny) Laminack, and Mickie (Mike) Morrow, all of Fruithurst.
Funeral services for Tim Payne will be conducted Monday, February 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Bremen with Reverend Hunter Roe and Reverend James Owens officiating. He will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at the Bremen City Cemetery with Brandon Owens presiding.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, February 9th, at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
The Payne family will accept flowers, but those desiring to make a memorial contribution in Tim's honor may send donations to Huntington's Disease of America at hdsa.org and click on donate or to the First Baptist Church of Bremen, 331 Pacific Avenue, Bremen, GA 30110.
