Mr. Thomas Liggon Taylor, age 89 of Temple formerly of Buchanan passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010. Mr. Taylor was born in Delta, Alabama on April 25, 1921. He was the son of the late Marion Taylor and the late Sarah Kemp Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II, was retired from Southwire and served for many years as the Doorkeeper for the Georgia House of Representatives. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ruth Brown Taylor. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and David Pike of Rockmart and Teresa and Mike Stephenson of Cedartown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Dondra Taylor of Buchanan and Randy and Joyce Taylor of Temple; twelve grandchildren; twenty two grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Homer Hulsey and Rev. Wayne Bray officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Cleburne County, Alabama with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Vance Posey, Tony Taylor, Alan Kiker, Johnny Shepperd, Bobby Hulsey and Chris Payton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
