Mrs. Thesba Ruth Head Williams, age 93, of Buchanan passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014.  Mrs. Williams was born in Buchanan, Georgia on May 14, 1921.  She was the daughter of the late Frank Lafayette Head and the late Mary Wilson Head.  During World War II she worked at the Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta and was what was commonly referred to as a "Rosie the Riveter".  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Thomas Williams.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Kenneth Dodd of Buchanan and Judy and Danny Deering Buchanan; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Starla Williams of Buchanan; seven grandchildren, Michelle Sanders, Tiffany Serena, Dawn Holder, Wendy Zuker, Heather Warren, Whitney Williams and Hunter Williams; twelve great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from the Buchanan Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

The remains will lie in state at the Church Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
