Ms. Teresa Lynn Swafford Key, age 54, of Buchanan passed away Monday, November 28, 2016.  Ms. Key was born in Rome, Georgia on April 6, 1962.  She was employed as a paraprofessional at Buchanan Primary School.  Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her spouse, Howard Key; father, Bernard Swafford; brother, Jeff Swafford; paternal grandparents, Noah and Nora Swafford; and maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Mattie Lou Pope.

Survivors include her husband, Timothy Lewis Poole of Buchanan; one daughter, Kayla Key of Bremen; one son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Natasha Key of Douglasville; one step-daughter, Kelly Poole of Alabama; one step-son, T.J. Poole of Washington; mother, Miranel Pope Swafford of Tallapoosa; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbi and Woody Thompson of Edwardsville, AL; Belinda and Wayne Stansbery of Tallapoosa and Sharon and Rodney Moody of Bremen; three grandchildren, Jaxon Crook, Ashton Wilterding and Kimber Wilterding all of Bremen; four nieces, one nephew, one great niece, two great nephews, one great great nephew; a number of cousins and special friends at Buchanan Primary School.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tallapoosa with Rev. Barry Taylor officiating with a prayer by Rev. Wendell Fielder.  Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church in Tallapoosa with Rev. Ryan Williams officiating at the graveside.  Serving as pallbearers will be: Phillip Martin, Ronnie Williams, Edd Saxon, Duane Smith, Caleb Adams and Cameron Stansbery.

Ms. Key will lie in state at the Church Thursday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
