IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Talmage
Wiley
February 9, 1948 – April 2, 2014
Talmage Wiley was born on Feb. 09, 1948 as the third son and fifth child of eight to Lester and Susie Mae Ward Wiley in the old farmhouse on top of the windy hill on Beulah Church Road near Graceville in Jackson County, Fl. He was the first born of Twins. His twin sister was still-born.
Talmage was a long distance truck driver for most of his adult work life. He crossed the U.S.A. from Georgia to Washington state and California many times. He grew up on a little North Florida farm picking cotton, stacking peanuts, pulling corn and growing vegetables for the family's food. The family spent some years as migrant farm workers in Central Florida and in Michigan.
Talmage died on April 2, 2014 at his home near Fruithurst, Alabama from long-termcancer and lung complications. His wife and oldest brother were at his side.
Talmage is pre-deceased by his dad (1994), his mother (2011), his oldest son, Talmage, Jr. (2010), all his grandparents and (4) of his siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy Cassar Wiley; his son, James Wiley (Ashley Williams); his five Grandchildren: Jaimie Payne (Paul), Phillip Michael Doss, Jr., Brooklyn Wiley, Chase Doss, and James Carroll Wiley; his two step-sons: Hank Doss (Faye) and Michael Doss (Kandis); brother Lester Wiley (Martha) of Marietta, sister Betty Wiley Addison of Gainesville, Fl. and sister Sue Wiley (Tom Ballentine) of Tallahassee, Fl and their families; and extended family (nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins).
Family requests that instead of flowers that donations be made to: Beacon Hospice, 1419 Leighton Avenue, Anniston, Al. 36207; or to: A scholarship fund for the grandchildren (Brooklyn, Chase, & James Carroll)'s higher education.
