Mrs. Sylvia Eleanor Greenway Smith, age 72, of 779 Addison Rd., Buchanan passed away Monday, May 4, 2009. Mrs. Smith was born in Prince Georges County, Maryland on April 18, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Elbert Greenway and the late Mary Nalley Greenway. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Smith; daughter, Michelle Smith; sister, Freddie Parsons; brothers, Donald Greenway and Ray Greenway. Survivors include one daughter, Lucinda Thompson of Smyrna; four sons, Donald Greenway of Buchanan, Danny Greenway of Marietta, Albert Smith of Hartfield, VA and Barry Smith of Bremen; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. There will be a gathering for family and friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date. The body was cremated. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
