Sterling Eugene Hurston, 69, of Buchanan, Georgia passed away Thursday evening, December 13, 2018. Mr. Hurston was born on December 13, 1949 in Haralson County, Georgia. He is the son of the late Hugh Lee Hurston and Mamie Lorene Brown Hurston.  He served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Sterling was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and J.W. Hurston, and one sister, Imogene Hurston. He is survived by his son, Matthew Gene Hurston; two brothers, Edward(Nancy) Hurston and Elisha Hurston, both of Bremen, Georgia; and two sisters, Jessie(Bennie) Weaver of Buchanan and Betty(Calvin) Smith of Bremen; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 2 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.  Visitation will be on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 6-8 PM in the same chapel.  Internment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
