Mrs. Shirley Louise Helton Smith, age 58, of Carrollton passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016.  Mrs. Smith was born in Carrollton, Georgia on February 1, 1958.  She was a cook for several restaurants in Carrollton and her last was Courthouse Café.  Mrs. Smith enjoyed talking to customers as they enjoyed her cooking.  She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Helton; one daughter, Kayla Smith; and one brother, Danny Helton.

Survivors include her husband, Edward "Eddie" Jackson Smith of Carrollton; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Christopher Adam and Kendra Smith, Joshua Ray and Kristen Smith, Michael Tyler and Krystal Smith and Edward Chase Smith all of Carrollton; mother, Louise Lona Terrell Helton of Carrollton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, David and Janice Pollard and Mike Helton; sister-in-law, Retha Helton all of Carrollton; three brothers-in-law and their wives, James and Debbie Smith, Roy and Vanessa Smith and Tommy and Judy Smith; one sister-in-law and her husband, Faye and Virgil Henry; nine grandchildren, Madison Smith, Sage Smith, Camp Smith, Riley Smith, Asher Smith, Kloee Smith, Kade Smith, Anslee Smith and Mason Smith; and a number of other relatives.

The family will conduct a private memorial service at a later date.  In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, she was cremated.
