Sheila Ann McElroy Pruitt, age 60 of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. Born on May 23, 1965, she was the daughter of late Dumer McElroy and the late Ruth Causey McElroy. In addition to her parents, Sheila is preceded in death by a son, Christopher James Lowery; grandchild, Taylon Lowery; sister, Judy McElroy and brothers, Steve McElroy and Joe McElroy.

Sheila had a sweet spirit and enjoyed working with crafts, tending to her flower bed, and cooking. She loved her family and relished the time she was able to spend with them.  Her dogs were also an important part of her family, as well as her granddogs, Buddy and Chaco.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Misty Hefner (Amber Clay) of Buchanan; sons, Hughland Chad Pruitt (Jennifer) of Florida and James Edward Lowery; sisters, Kathy McCormick, Janice McElroy, Peggy Jackson and Lisa Parsons; brother, Stanley McElroy; grandchildren, Caleb Turley, Garrett Turley, Julia Turley, Ashlyn Reign Pruitt, Keelee Lowery, Ryleigh Lowery, Olivia Lowery, Raelyn Lowery, Zayden Lowery and Breezy Lowery; great grandchild, Cora Ann Marie Donaldson, and several other relatives and friends.

In keeping with the family's wishes, Sheila will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help with the cremation services.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
