Sharon Rebecca Hopkins Loeffler, age 78 of Tallapoosa, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026. Born in Marietta, Georgia, on June 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Everett Jewell Hopkins and Nettie Mae Cochran Wall. In addition to her parents, Sharon in preceded in death by her life long partner, Buddy Washington, her sister, Judy Hopkins, and her brothers Ronnie Hopkins, Richard Hopkins, and Stevie Couch.

Sharon was always the life of the party.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved music, dancing and singing karaoke. Many nights were spent playing poker or board games with her family.  A very intelligent lady, Sharon could complete difficult crossword puzzles and answer many of the questions on "Jeopardy."  She always said she was full of useless knowledge.  Affectionately known as "Granny" to many, her family was her pride and joy.  Sharon will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Amy Fowler and Janie Williams; her son, Ken Elrod; step-son, Jeremy Washington; and precious grandchildren Amber (Ty) Eaton and Brittany Nicholls. Also surviving are her sister, Janice (John) Hopkins; her great-grandchildren: Jordon (Zee) Eaton, Mason Eaton, Alex Eaton, and Amiyah Eaton; and many nieces and nephews.

In honoring Sharon's wishes, she will be cremated.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
