Sergeant Major Glenn Norman Wright, (USMC Retired), age 79, of Carrollton passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Mr. Wright was born in Lincoln, Missouri on November 30, 1933. He was the son of the late Jesse C. Wright and the late Maud Dixon Wright. Sergeant Major Wright served his country for 38 years in the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by ten siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Joan Kirk Wright of Carrollton; one daughter, Glenda Wright of Carrollton; one step-daughter and step son-in-law, Cindy (Cash) and Chris Stone of Rising Fawn; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John and Sheila Wright of Bowdon and Don and Susan Wright of Carrollton; three step-sons and two step daughters-in-law, Gary and Vickie Cash of Buchanan, Micheal and Lyric Cash of Dallas and Mark Cash of Bremen; one sister, Marqurite Wright of Springfield, MO; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. from the Graveside at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
