Mr. Seals Leon Pope, age 86, of Buchanan passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016.  Mr. Pope was born in Tallapoosa, Georgia on September 10, 1929.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Arrow Shirt Company where he was a sewing machine mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Hobbs Pope of Buchanan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melisa and Jeff Worthy of Buchanan and Teresa and Mark Reynolds of Rome; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Samantha Pope of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Josh Worthy, Holly Terry, Madi Reynolds and Taylor Pope; five great grandchildren, Christian Barron, Kaylyn Barron, McKenna Worthy, Will Terry and Everly Terry; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Meeks and Rev. Charles Worthy officiating.  Interment will follow in Piney Woods Cemetery with Rev. Blake Terry officiating at the graveside.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dan Pope, Tim Pope, Christian Evans, Derick Biggers, Warner Evans, Jeff Worthy, Mark Reynolds and Dakota Evans.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
