Sarah Rebecca Borden, age 71 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 23, 2025.  Born in Anniston, Alabama, on May 5, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Amos Borden and the late Emma Gilmer Borden.  In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her sisters, Sue Ervin and Hilda Borden.

A compassionate, caring woman, Sarah spent over 20 years as a nurse at Countryside Health Center in Buchanan.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden and in her vegetable garden during the summer.  Sarah spent many hours making homemade jellies and preserving fruits and vegetables to share. Lately, taking care of her chickens was her favorite activity.  Her big heart and caring personality will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Miles of Bremen; her son, Shane Hall of Wichita, Kansas; her sisters, Ruby Barr, Mae Barnett, and Carolyn Denson; and her brother, Junior Borden.  Also surviving are her precious grandchildren who lovingly called her "Granny": Clay Hall, Jacob (Annie) Miles, and Emily (Cass) Benson; her great-granddaughter, Isabell; and many friends.

A celebration of life for Sarah Borden will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:00 P.M.
